Default Blessed Light in PvE

Since this is such a godly skill on paper, I have been investing loads of time into finding a good healing build that includes this elite, but have been having some trouble with getting the extra little punch I had with my custom WoH build... Can anyone here post a build they used with Blessed Light that worked well for them? It'd be a great help as well as a great lesson in learning...

Well I was playing with:

Blessed Light
Protective Spirit
RoF
Gift of Health
Sig of Devotion
Rebirth
Inspired Hex
Channeling / Drain Enchantment (depends on the area, some places mobs use nasty enchantments so it's handy then)

I think stats were:

Divine Favour: 14
Protection: 9
Healing: 6
Inspiration: 9

Though you could drop DF to 13 and bump protection to 10 and the rest in healing. Worked pretty well really, though I tend to prefer playing as active prot or WoH healer. I'll definately be playing around with blessed light builds more though.

I really like this build, but ive been wondering for a long time, y use Gift Of Heath? ic boon proters use it as well. y put points into Healing?

Usually you have a decent amount of points (6-7) to toss into healing and gift of health deals an equally decent amount of heal at the cost of recharging a skill line that you're not running anywhere else on your bar anyway. Doesn't matter if it disables all healing skills for an 10 minutes or 10 seconds Not a bad 5er for a boon prot to run IMO. Don't think I'd replace it for a condition or hex remover though, especially in pve.

Yeah even at only 6 in healing, gift of health heals for more than orison does at 14 healing (69 on gift compared to 67 on orison). I find it pretty handy to take along.

yeah i use gift of health also on my boon prot. have healing at 7 and it heals for 190 =) when coupled with divine boon and divine favor. Not bad for 7 nrg.

Reversal of Fortune heals for 63 and that's not a big difference. Of course, it IS a big difference when you waste points by putting 6 or 7 in Healing Prayers, as you'll reduce your Protection Prayers.
Gift of Healing is a bad skill, as 5 seconds recharge is just too long, you're forced to spend points in another attribute and it isn't much better then Reversal of Fortune in the first place.

Ya know, thats a funny thing to say, I was in observer mode just last night and got to see someone from that guild with those funny gold capes use Gift of Health and Blessed Light.

I know your talking about PVE here but my point still stands - people in funny gold capes use Gift of Health, a "bad skill". I have recently been led to believe by many people that this guild with those odd capes might be noobs, because they use many noobish skills.

Plus, you are NOT shut down when you use Gift of Health - you should still have Signet of Devotion and Blessed Light. Gift of Health is meant to be an /energy efficient/ surge heal, as opposed to Heal Other being a 'bigger and faster' heal (all this in comparison to the staple - orison).

PS: should I report those people? perhaps they are altering their cape using an exploit..?

ya know Gift of Health imo is not a bad skill in the least. I bumped up my healing to 9 as you sugested Maxie and now have a spike heal for 200+ with every heal every 5 seconds. As you said the down side is RoF and Guardian take a hit but that's it. The upside imo far outweigh the downside of using Gift of Health.

I was going to start a new topic on my questions, but this thread seems pretty close. I'm trying to come up with a Blessed Light build for GvG that also uses Healing Seed (since it helps against Soul Barbs and Zealot's Fire - two skills that are abused in the current metagame). The build that I was thinking was very close to the first one mentioned. Is Healing Seed worth it? Does it interact well with Gift of Health? Should Protective Spirit be removed if there is a Shelter spirit spammer? If Protective Spirit is not used, is it possible to remove Protection completely (but I'd hate to lose my spike healing without Reversal of Fortune) or is there a better protection spell for that spot? What is the best attribute distribution to get the most out of Gift of Health and Healing Seed and still have decent inspiration and protection?

1) Reversal of Fortune
2) Blessed Light
3) Gift of Health
4) Signet of Devotion
5) Healing Seed
6) Protective Spirit? (possibly Holy Veil for HA)
7) Inspired Hex
8) Revealed Hex/Drain Enchantment (obviously Channeling for HA)

I haven't really invested much time into Gift of Health, but I think I will with it's obviously growing popularity. Many of my testing builds with Blessed Light have been absolute failures, much to my discouragement . But I think it was because I've been testing a little too much with the pure healing prayers, rather than a mix of all 3 passive monk attributes (Healing+Protection+Divine Favor).

On the note of the capes, it's a lighting effect. The ascention symbol (aka the french/quebec sign) shines golden on my cape also.

I've been using a build doing missions in PvE simply because it works with PuG monks. 90% of pug monks take 7 heals and a res, no energy management, condition removal, or hex removal. I then take it upon myself to do all of this, and end up with this build:

Healing touch
Gift of Health
Draw Conditions
Blessed Light
Inspired Hex
Revealed hex
Wild Card 1 (usually res, holy veil, or sig of devotion)
Wild Card 2 (usually sig of capture)

I run with 16 divine, 10 healing, 9 inspiration, and 3 prot (whatever is leftover in prot, I think it's 3,) and can usually heal through mostly anything, with no energy problems. It relies on the fact that the other monk will be doing at least a fair bit of straight healing, since this build isn't meant for massive HP heals. If I'm playing with another half-decent monk, I'll run my boon prot, as it has bigger heals, and still a reasonable amount of hex removal.

Gift of health is great, as it's a huge heal and it's cheap. The 7 second block only effects healing touch, which I don't use often anyways, only as an emergency self-heal (since gift is other.)

So if you're playing with a monk that you don't trust, you'll take that build? And your main spammable heal disables your emergency self heal?

Yet you won't take a boon protector, because removing hexes is more important?

I wish I could play a build like that.
